Summary: Scott Bridge Company replaced the former steel span bridge over Little River with a modern concrete bridge on a new alignment with wider travel lanes and shoulders, opening the view of the lake to motorists. GDOT accepted Scott Bridge Company’s design and proposal for the work and construction on this $24 Million project, and work began in the spring of 2014.

Result: The bridge design more than doubled the width of the opening under the bridge, increasing boater safety by increasing lake-level visibility and allowing more options for passing under the bridge. A high-rise portion of the bridge over the main channel will allow larger boats and houseboats to easily navigate beneath the bridge. The bridge was opened for traffic in November 2016.
