Scott Bridge Company replaced the previous, functionally obsolete structure spanning the Savannah River between Lincolnton, GA and McCormick, SC with a modern bridge featuring shoulders and wider travel lanes. One of the primary challenges involved in this project was the depth of the lake, which in places was as much as 80 feet. Large cofferdams were built to enable construction of the foundations for the new bridge, with only a fraction of the substructure of this bridge seen above the water line. This 1,680-ft-long bridge was completed in 2017.
